From our sister company - Entrusted Auctions - Buck Thompson grew up in Talcott, WV where he hung around Thompson's garage alongside his grandfather, father & his brothers. This was the beginning of his passion for classic & modified cars & trucks. As a young man he started driving the local milk truck. This where he met his life's co-pilot, Nancy. He then joined the Army Reserves, where he became an MP. Not long after, he, Nancy and their daughters Beth and Fran started their life together in Union, WV., where Mr. Thompson would soon become such a well loved & respected member of the community.
With only a fifth or sixth grade formal education he soared to heights previously unknown with Monroe Ford in Union. From mechanic to Service Dept. Manager constantly teaching himself and taking all the classes available through Ford & their training programs. Year after year he was awarded several prestigious awards . In 1968 Mr. Thompson's brother started the Traveling Hillbillies and that prompted Buck to start The Hillbilly Cruisers. With his collection of classic & modified cruisers he and his brother with other family members would have many adventures making great memories along the way. When he built his garage at his home it soon became the spot to help anyone in need of repairs. He self taught himself body work and would often paint vehicles in the large main garage. He worked on everything from top notch racers and show cars to farming and construction equipment. Even fabricating his own parts if need be. After retiring from Monroe Ford he decided to pick up his father's and grandfathers first trade and their passion, woodworking. His grandfather and father both made furniture in Summers County.
We now proudly present, From The Garage of Mr. O.D. "Buck" Thompson, Auction #1 of this amazing estate. Below is a small list of items you will find being offered in Auction #1. Stay tuned for Auction #2.

Farmer Auctions is proud to present the collection of Cliff Shepherd and his late wife Sue Shepherd. Upon walking into their house for the first time one thing was apparent, they loved to fish. Sue was a fisherman’s daughter from Cape Hatteras Island in North Carolina. Cliff and Sue met in a local fishing club there. The influence of the island can be seen in the decor, signed artwork, and numerous books about the outer banks (some signed!). Cliff really enjoyed working with his hands and his extensive tool collection is a testament to that. Besides Sue, he also had a deep love for Hot Rods and the automotive world.
This collection has something for everyone including everything from decor, to furniture, to books (including many on World War II). Collectors will love Cliffs extensive pocket knife collection too. We hope you enjoy scrolling through this legacy. Happy Bidding!
