We are pleased to present the collection from the Lee Family. Two generations of Lee's have made their home in Beckley in professional practice. The collection is unique to the area with an extensive assortment of quality and unique Asian works, both furniture and artwork. Many of the art pieces are original single items signed by the artist. Paintings, scrolls, cast pieces and statuary are all found in the collection. There is an assortment of hand made award winning dolls in exquisite detail as well as a beautiful piece of custom art glass from a renown California studio. A number of Mid Century Modern pieces are also in the collection, including a Danish modern king size bed and a white patio table and chairs, all in original condition.

Also included are a number of contractor grade power tools, many with brand names, such as Milwaukee and Makita as well as numerous lots of building materials to complete a project. Finally, the collection offers a quality selection of household items, books, office items, kitchen wear and furnishings perfect for everyday living.

Dr. Johnson lived to be 97 years old. He served 42 years in the U.S. Navy and worked over 30 years as an internal medicine physician. He and his late wife Jolene traveled extensively around the world to at least 20 different countries spending many winters in Colombia where they were welcomed as part of the local community.  This collection showcases their world travels and appreciation of art and culture. 

There are numerous Columbian pottery pieces, oil paintings – many signed by the artist, early 1900s gold coins, and unique treasures from various countries. 

The Johnsons owned three historic furniture pieces that were made from trees that stood in Bloody Lane, Antietam Battlefield during the Civil War. It includes a wild cherry mantle, dresser and dressing table and bench and has documentation of its origins. 

Check out all the Lionel trains, unique art glass, sterling silver and gold jewelry. 

There is something in this collection that will surely catch your eye.

This is part 2 of this Vinton auction that is helping the Michelsen family move on to the next phase of their lives. You’ll see their three classic cars – a 1974 Porsche Roadster, 1964 Chevy Nova SS and the car that was most significant in their lives, a 1965 Porsche 356C. These cars were well cared for and are all currently running. Mick and Dawn Michelsen were icons in the Porsche community for decades. Their red Porsche 356C has been featured in articles and on the covers of numerous Porsche publications throughout the years, and Mick wrote many articles for Porsche magazines as an owner, enthusiast, and mechanic. 

In addition to the actual vehicles, this sale includes numerous parts, that were purchased specifically for these cars as well as accessories and memorabilia. There is also a John Deere D110 Lawn Mower in good condition. 

The auction includes other items such as vintage radios, advertising signs, license plates, wooden crates, numerous lots of tools and equipment, oil cans, yard décor, cast iron pieces, and much more.
